Real Estate and Personal Property tax bills for the second half of fiscal 2021 were mailed in December and are due on Thursday, April 1st, 2021. Bills that are not paid in full by April 1 are subject to additional interest and fees, even if you have filed for an abatement (see below). Payments postmarked on or before April 1 will be considered on-time.
The Tax Collector’s office is currently closed to the public due to the pandemic. Taxes can be paid by check or money order by US mail, or online through your own bank or through Unibank on the tax collector “Payments” page. Payments postmarked on or before April 1 will be considered on-time. If you would like to know that your payment was received, please write your phone number on the remit portion of the bill and I will call you when I get it.
If you own or recently purchased property in Bernardston and did not receive a bill, please contact the Collector’s office.
The amount of your tax and the value of your property is determined by the Board of Assessors.
